Site Update Issues
We are growing and growing often has growing pains. Check back to this post for updates on web site issues.
This message is current as of 6:00 p.m. PDT on March 30.
RESI is working on making this site a much more user-friendly place than the earlier sites. The site may behave differently based on your web browser and operating system. We are finding that members using Firefox seem to have fewer issues.
This site contains all of the new content that is being developed and the active members’ forum. New content will be posted only on this site.
When you are on a member’s content page and you click on a document link, the current “architecture” takes you to a new kind of mini-page for the document itself. The benefit of the mini-page is that RESI can add comments and instructions about the document at one place and they will carry throughout the web site rather than having to update each content page. These mini-pages have a glitch in Internet Explorer (testing with version 8). When you right-click on the document icon to “Save Link As” the .docx files try to become .zip files. For now, simply rename the file with a .docx extension instead or change it after you save it. When we “Save Target As” in Firefox we don’t have this issue. We have stumped the tech people about this for now. Either a solution will be found or created, or we’ll go back to the old system without the mini-pages.
The second generation site at http://www.realestatestrategiesinstitute.com/ remains as it was about March 26th and will remain that way until this site is fully updated. Please click on the link and login there for “legacy” content.
There is the first generation site at http://www.realestatestrategiesinstitute.org/ that has very few items which have not been updated or replaced, so be sure you have dug around there too. Always look at the file footer for version number and or date of edition.
Thank you for your continuing support and patience.
